Parent and learner testimonials

The families who already decided, in their own words.

Choosing a school in El Salvador is not only an academic decision, it is a social one. So here are the parents. Some in English, most in Spanish, all of them people you may already know.

Acton Academy has been the best choice for our son. He is thriving here.

I genuinely recommend it to any family. I could not be happier with our experience. My boys have grown so much through Acton Academy and have become responsible, considerate, empathetic young men. They have also learned to support and respect others' views, even when they disagree, and to communicate with maturity and kindness. I feel proud and grateful to be part of this community.

We came to Acton with our three year old daughter. What surprised me most was that for the admissions process, before any visit or interview, they gave us a book to read. We read it and discussed it as a family. Then they interviewed us, to understand our family and what we expected as parents.

In a school that sets no homework, I find a daughter who wants to get up earlier to finish her book, because she set herself a reading goal for the week and she wants to reach it. Acton has challenged my own paradigms about what it means to educate, and I was trained inside the traditional framework.

It is a school where you choose what to do, and nobody pressures you. If you fail at something, instead of telling you off, they push you to get back up and keep going. I chose Acton for the freedom it gives me, and because it lets us chase the career we actually want and try things from the real world.

Acton has exceeded and surpassed all of our expectations. We transferred from a conventional school programme to the Montessori programme and have been absolutely thrilled with Shannon and the entire Acton team and guides. I highly recommend Acton to all of our friends and family.

We have been able to watch his confidence grow. Coming to these exhibitions and hearing him speak about everything he has learned every session has been delightful. He was nervous at the first one, and each time he comes he has more and more confidence, and is really able to show his leadership skills.

Respect for her own individuality, respect for her pace, respect for what she loves. It is not that there is nothing she has to do, but it never feels imposed.
